Temperature Monitoring Relay
Monitoring relay for measuring temperature and providing control or alarm when temperature leaves configured limits.
A temperature monitoring relay measures temperature using connected sensors and compares the measured values with configured thresholds.
Depending on the version, it may work with thermistors, RTDs, thermocouples, and other sensors. Multichannel models may support several independent inputs, individual channel configuration, and different sensor types.
Monitoring may include overtemperature, undertemperature, a temperature window, and temperature difference between channels. Advanced devices may diagnose sensors and wiring, detect open and short circuits, compensate lead resistance, and provide thermocouple cold-junction compensation.
Selection criteria include supported sensors, measuring range and accuracy, number of channels, connection arrangements, thresholds, hysteresis, measuring-circuit characteristics, and diagnostic functions.
Temperature monitoring relays, multichannel devices, RTD and thermocouple relays, overtemperature and undertemperature relays, temperature-difference monitors, and winding-temperature monitoring devices.
