Universal monitoring relay capable of measuring and supervising several electrical or process quantities and performing multiple independent monitoring functions.
A multifunction monitoring relay combines several measurement, monitoring, signalling, and control functions in one device.
Depending on the model, it may supervise voltage, current, frequency, phase conditions, power, power factor, temperature, liquid level, and other parameters. Several functions may operate simultaneously with independent thresholds, delays, and outputs.
Programmable devices may support several parameter sets, assignment of functions to digital inputs and relay outputs, local configuration, measured-value and event memory, time stamps, and trend data.
Models with digital communication may provide remote measured-value readout, diagnostics, and testing. Selection criteria include the number of simultaneously active functions, configurability of inputs and outputs, parameter memory, diagnostic functions, and supported communication interfaces.
