Analog Time Switch
Time switch using a mechanical or electromechanical method to define switching times.
An analogue time switch automatically switches an electrical load according to a program set by physical programming elements.
Switching times are typically configured using segments, tappets, pins, or other mechanical elements on a daily or weekly program dial. Current time is indicated on a scale and, depending on the design, by clock hands.
The device may provide a clock power reserve that maintains correct time during temporary loss of supply. Some models support manual switching, daylight-saving-time correction, and additional control modes.
Key advantages of analogue time switches include simple setup, directly visible programming, and absence of complex menus.
Selection criteria include program-cycle type, minimum switching interval, number of programming elements, power reserve, number of channels, switching capability, and mounting method.
This subcategory includes mechanical, electromechanical, and quartz analogue time switches with segments, tappets, or pins for daily and weekly load control.
