Voltage Sensor
Measuring sensor converting monitored electrical voltage into a signal suitable for measurement, control, or automation systems.
A voltage sensor measures electrical voltage and converts it into a standardized or other output signal for further processing.
Depending on the design, it may measure DC, AC, or both and may use different physical measurement principles.
Active sensors may require separate auxiliary power. The sensor output may be used by meters, controllers, automation, monitoring, and data-logging systems.
Principal characteristics include voltage range, accuracy, linearity, bandwidth, conversion ratio, supply requirements, and output-signal characteristics.
Selection criteria include measured-voltage type, range, electrical isolation, frequency characteristics, supply, output type, and compatibility with the receiving measuring device.
