Hour Meter
Instrument for cumulative measurement of operating time of equipment, machinery, motors, or electrical installations.
An hour meter records the total time during which monitored equipment is in a specified operating state.
Time counting may be started by the presence of supply voltage, a separate control input, contact state, or another condition specified by the manufacturer.
The device may include a non-resettable total operating-hours register and an additional partial register that can be reset during maintenance or for selected tasks.
Important characteristics include counting resolution, maximum accumulated-time range, timing accuracy, and the conditions under which time is counted as operating time.
Hour meters are used for maintenance planning for motors, generators, pumps, machines, production equipment, and other installations.
Selection criteria include maximum time range, resolution, accuracy, counting trigger method, partial-register reset capability, supply, and display type.
Electronic and electromechanical hour meters for machines, motors, and industrial equipment.
