Brake Rectifier
Electronic or diode module for supplying an electromagnetic brake with DC from an AC or DC voltage source.
A brake rectifier supplies the coil of an electromagnetic motor or drive brake with the required DC voltage.
In a typical system, the module converts AC voltage to DC and controls energization of the brake coil.
Some models support short-duration overexcitation at an increased voltage to accelerate operation, followed by a reduced holding voltage.
An additional fast-release function can accelerate coil-current decay and shorten the transition time of the mechanical brake.
Selection criteria include input voltage, brake-coil output voltage, permissible brake current and power, overexcitation and holding voltage, connection method, and fast-switching functions.
Rectifiers and control modules for electromagnetic motor brakes, including models with overexcitation and fast release.
