KNX IP Router
KNX network router intended to route telegrams between KNX IP and KNX lines or areas.
A KNX IP router interconnects KNX segments using an IP network as a backbone or higher-level line. KNXnet/IP Routing normally uses multicast, while some devices also provide tunneling for ETS or supervisory systems.
The device may operate as a line or area coupler, use a group-address filter table, and control forwarding of individual, group, and broadcast telegrams. KNX IP Secure models provide authenticated and encrypted routing.
Important characteristics include tunneling connection capacity, Secure support, repeat mode, time synchronization, power supply, and configuration method. Selection criteria include KNX topology and traffic-separation requirements.
This subcategory includes KNX IP routers and IP line/backbone couplers for KNXnet/IP routing and secure communication.
