LoRaWAN Gateway
Industrial wireless gateway for receiving and transmitting LoRa packets and connecting LoRaWAN devices to a Network Server and backend systems.
A LoRaWAN gateway contains one or more LoRa concentrators and forwards received frames to the LoRaWAN Network Server. It may use a classic Packet Forwarder, Semtech UDP, Basic Station, or another backhaul mechanism.
Key radio characteristics include RX/TX channel count, supported spreading factors, bandwidths, regional frequency plans, sensitivity, transmit power, and antenna types. Some devices support Listen Before Talk, fine timestamping, GNSS, and time synchronization.
The gateway may provide Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G, local storage, Store-and-Forward, VPN, remote management, and an embedded Network Server. Selection criteria include concentrator count, packet-processing performance, RF region, backhaul, redundancy, and security.
This subcategory includes industrial LoRaWAN gateways and LoRa concentrators with Packet Forwarder, Basics Station, GNSS, embedded Network Server, and backend functions.
