Device description

Digital Input Module

I/O module for receiving discrete two-state signals from pushbuttons, contacts, sensors, and other field devices.

A digital input module converts two-state field signals into logical states available to the controller. Channels may operate with DC or AC signals and have specified ON/OFF thresholds, response times, and filtering.

Depending on the design, galvanic isolation, potential grouping, wire diagnostics, hardware interrupts, counters, or high-speed input functions may be available. Permissible input voltage and current, sink/source logic, and common-potential connection are also important.

Selection criteria include channel count, nominal voltage, input standard, isolation, filtering times, signal frequency, and compatibility with the selected I/O system.
