Analog Input Module
I/O module for measuring and digitizing analogue electrical or sensor signals.
An analogue input module measures voltage, current, resistance, or signals from specialized sensors and makes digital values available to the controller. Individual channels may use fixed or configurable measurement ranges.
Key characteristics include channel count, supported signal types, converter resolution, accuracy, sampling and conversion time, and value representation. For thermocouples and resistance sensors, sensor types, cold-junction compensation, and 2-/3-/4-wire connections are important.
Depending on the design, digital filtering, overrange diagnostics, wire-break detection, galvanic isolation, and common or individual ADCs may be available.
This subcategory includes analogue voltage, current, and sensor input modules for PLCs and remote I/O stations.
