Device description

Motor Protection Relay

Multifunction protective relay for monitoring electrical and thermal conditions of a motor.

A motor protection relay combines multiple protective functions based on current, voltage, thermal measurements, or sensor inputs.

Depending on design it may provide overload protection, current unbalance and phase loss, stall, jam, locked rotor, excessive start time, thermistor protection, and other functions.

Advanced devices may provide alarms, trip history, diagnostics, control I/O, and communication with automation systems.

Selection considers motor type and power, measurement range, required protective functions, sensor interfaces, communication, and the method used to trip or stop the motor.
