EV Communication Gateway
Network gateway for data exchange between EV charging stations, local control systems, EMS, and an external backend or CSMS.
An EV communication gateway integrates charging infrastructure with local and remote management systems.
It may connect EVSE through Ethernet, Wi-Fi, cellular, RS-485, or other interfaces and transfer data to a CSMS, EMS, or cloud platform.

If external connectivity is lost, some devices retain local operation and synchronize data after the connection is restored.
Selection criteria include number of supported EVSE, network interfaces, OCPP/Modbus/MQTT or other protocols, cybersecurity, local storage, and communication-redundancy methods.
