Portable EVSE
Portable EVSE with mains plug, charging cable, and an in-cable control and protection device.
Portable EVSE is intended to charge an electric vehicle from a suitable domestic or industrial socket without a fixed charging station.
The control and protective electronics are located in an in-cable control and protection device (IC-CPD).
The device generates Control Pilot signalling, limits charging current, monitors protective conditions, and may monitor mains-plug temperature.
Important portable-design parameters include inline-control-box dimensions and mass, cable lengths, mains-plug type, charging connector, and permissible current.
Selection criteria include compatibility with the supply network and vehicle, plug temperature monitoring, IP protection, current adjustment, and compliance with IEC 62752.
