Handheld Operator Unit
Portable operator unit for local control, commissioning, and setup of a machine close to the working area.
A handheld operator unit enables control actions to be performed directly at the machine. It may contain keys, a joystick, electronic handwheel, display, safety devices, and a wired or network communication interface.
For setup applications, presence of an emergency-stop actuator and enabling switch, enclosure ergonomics, cable length and type, and communication method are particularly important.
Selection criteria include CNC or PLC compatibility, degree of protection, type and number of operator devices, and environmental conditions.
