Electrical Component Parameter Reference

An open technical reference for electrical component types, their applications, and selection parameters.

This material is also available in PL and RU.

Device description

Industrial Joystick

Multi-axis manual control device for commanding direction and magnitude of machine or motion-system movement.

An industrial joystick allows an operator to command movement in one or more independent axes. Additional push buttons or switches may be integrated into the handle.

Principal parameters include axis count, number of additional switches, return-to-neutral behaviour, output-signal type, motion geometry, and mechanical characteristics.

Selection criteria include ergonomics, endurance, mounting, electrical compatibility, and environmental conditions.
