Device description

KNX Cable

Specialized twisted-pair cable for the KNX TP bus used in building automation.

KNX cable is intended for the KNX Twisted Pair physical layer and carries both communication data and bus power to KNX devices.

The construction normally uses balanced twisted pairs with defined electrical characteristics and standardized conductor colour identification. Stable pair geometry supports predictable bus behaviour and interference immunity.

Depending on the design, the cable may include screening and a sheath suitable for building installation conditions. Rated voltage and fire characteristics are also relevant where the cable is intended for fixed installation in buildings.

For KNX applications, declared conformity with KNX TP requirements and the registration or certification status of the specific cable type are important and should be supported by manufacturer documentation.

Selection criteria include pair construction, screening, installation conditions, electrical characteristics, fire requirements, and the cable's official status within the KNX ecosystem.
