Alarm Cable
Multicore low-voltage cable for security, technical alarm, and other signalling systems.
Alarm cable is used to connect detectors, control panels, sounders, output modules, and other components of security and technical-alarm systems.
The construction is selected according to the required number of circuits, operating voltage, line length, and electromagnetic environment. It may contain several or many small-cross-section conductors within one sheath.
Depending on the requirements, the cable may be unscreened or screened. Core identification may use colours or numbers to simplify installation and service.
For building installations, sheath and insulation fire characteristics may be important, while lines exposed to interference may require effective screening and an appropriate shield-bonding method.
Selection criteria include alarm-system application, number and size of cores, screening, voltage, environmental conditions, installation method, and required fire characteristics.
