Bare Copper Conductor
Uninsulated copper conductor for earthing, equipotential bonding, lightning protection, and other conductive connections.
Bare copper conductor has no electrical insulation and is used where an exposed conductive surface is permitted and functionally required.
Typical applications include earthing arrangements and connections between earth electrodes, main and supplementary equipotential bonding, and components of lightning-protection systems.
Copper provides high electrical conductivity and good corrosion resistance in many environments, although installation should consider the possibility of galvanic corrosion where dissimilar metals are connected.
Mechanical characteristics depend on conductor cross-section, shape, and construction, for example solid, stranded, or strip form.
Selection criteria include required cross-section, conductor function, routing and fixing method, environmental conditions, and material compatibility with other parts of the installation.
