Hybrid Motor / Feedback Cable
Combined cable integrating motor power conductors, brake circuits, and feedback signals within one sheath.
A hybrid motor/feedback cable combines several electrical functions in one cable between a drive and motor. It reduces the number of separate cable runs required for an axis or drive assembly.
The same construction may contain motor power cores, brake conductors, encoder or resolver pairs, temperature-sensor conductors, and other auxiliary circuits. The functional groups must be appropriately separated within the design.
For the power section, suitability for PWM drive output and insulation resistance to repetitive drive impulses are important. For the signal section, screening and separation from power circuits are critical to reducing coupled interference.
The screening system may include an overall screen together with additional screens around selected groups. The number of feedback and brake conductors depends on the specific drive/motor system.
Selection criteria include power-core cross-section, motor current and voltage, brake and feedback conductor counts, screening arrangement, bend radius, motion conditions, and compatibility with the specific drive and motor.
