Wire Ferrule
Metal tubular ferrule used to terminate a flexible stranded conductor before insertion into a terminal clamp.
A wire ferrule gathers the individual strands of a flexible conductor into a uniform termination that can be inserted safely into a screw, spring or other compatible terminal.
The metallic sleeve is crimped onto the conductor using the specified die profile. Its internal and external diameters, length and compatibility with conductor cross-section influence both contact quality and fit in the receiving terminal.
Uninsulated ferrules have no plastic collar and therefore require less installation space. The product may be subject to DIN 46228-1, UL 486F or other ferrule requirements.
Selection should consider conductor cross-section and class, sleeve length and dimensions, material and plating, crimp profile, tooling and the requirements of the receiving terminal.
Uninsulated wire ferrules for termination of flexible stranded conductors.
