Cable Connector
Power connector for joining two cable conductors by compression, bolts or shear-head mechanical clamping.
A cable connector provides an electrical and mechanical joint between two power-cable conductors within a common conductive sleeve.
Depending on the design, conductors may be secured by compression crimping, conventional clamping bolts or shear-head bolts providing controlled clamping force. Some models allow conductors of different cross-sections to be joined.
Copper, aluminium and mixed-conductor applications may require suitable plating, joint compound and oxide-inhibiting grease. Barrel material and grade must be compatible with the conductors and operating environment.
Selection should consider barrel inner and outer diameters, material and plating, conductor range, installation technology, bolt arrangement, joint compound and compliance with IEC 61238-1-1/-1-3.
Compression and mechanical cable connectors for Cu/Al power cables.
