Cable Lug
Cable lug with a conductive barrel and flat palm for bolted connection of a cable conductor to a busbar or electrical device.
A cable lug converts the end of a power-cable conductor into a controlled bolted contact with a busbar, device, transformer or other connection pad.
The conductor is secured in the cylindrical barrel by compression or mechanical technology, while the flat palm/tongue is fastened using one or more bolts.
Key geometry includes barrel diameter and length, palm width, length and thickness, number of holes and hole spacing. Material and plating influence conductivity, corrosion behaviour and electrochemical compatibility.
Selection should consider conductor material and cross-section, bolt size, connection-pad geometry, installation method, joint compound and IEC 61238-1-1/-1-3 requirements.
