Cable Gland
Cable gland providing mechanical retention, strain relief and sealed passage of a cable through an enclosure wall or panel.
A cable gland routes a cable through an enclosure opening, stabilises its position and limits transfer of mechanical force to internal terminals and connections.
The mounting portion may use metric, PG, NPT or another thread system compatible with the enclosure. Installation is by screwing into a threaded opening or by using a locknut on the inside of a thin panel.
The permitted cable outside-diameter range must match the sealing and clamping element. Thread length, wrench size, body material, seals, operating temperature and environmental resistance are also important.
Selection should consider cable diameter, thread type and size, wall thickness, locknut provision, IP rating, material and strain-relief requirements.
Cable glands for cabinets, distribution boards, machine enclosures and junction boxes.
