EMC Cable Gland
EMC cable gland combining cable sealing and strain relief with a low-impedance connection between the cable shield and enclosure or PE system.
An EMC cable gland performs the basic functions of a standard gland while additionally providing a conductive 360-degree or equivalent bond between the cable shield and the metallic enclosure.
The contact element must cover the shield within the specified diameter range and maintain stable pressure with low contact resistance. This is especially important for broadband high-frequency interference control.
Such glands are used with drive, motor, signal and communication cables where the shield has to be bonded directly to chassis or PE without a long pigtail conductor.
Selection should consider overall cable diameter, shield diameter, shield contact resistance, body material, thread, thread length, wrench size, IP rating and the EMC requirements of the installation.
