Shield Clamp
Clamp providing a broadband low-impedance connection between a cable shield and PE, chassis or an EMC grounding rail.
A shield clamp contacts the exposed cable shield directly and creates a short path for interference currents to the PE rail or machine chassis.
The large contact area and absence of a long pigtail help maintain low impedance at high frequencies. This is important for drive, motor, encoder and communication cables.
The clamp must match the actual shield diameter and maintain stable pressure without damaging the cable. Material and plating should provide good conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Selection should consider minimum and maximum shield diameter, contact resistance, mounting method, material, compatibility with the EMC/PE rail and environmental requirements.
Shield clamps for bonding drive, signal and communication cable shields.
