Device description

Auxiliary Contact

Additional contact module for transmitting device status to external control, indication and automation circuits.

An auxiliary contact is fitted to a compatible switching or protective device and is mechanically linked to its main operating mechanism.

It is used to transmit device status to PLCs, relay circuits, indication systems, interlocks and supervisory systems.

The contact function depends on the design: it may reproduce the position of the main contacts, the operating mechanism state or another mechanical condition.

Selection criteria include the number of NO/NC contacts, control-circuit electrical ratings, the indication function and the permitted mounting position on the host device.
