Device description

Undervoltage Release

Release that trips a device when control voltage falls below a defined level and prevents reclosing until voltage is restored.

An undervoltage release monitors whether sufficient voltage is available in the control circuit.

When voltage falls below the defined dropout level, the mechanism trips the device and normally prevents reclosing while the required voltage is absent.

It is used to protect equipment against unintended restart and to implement fail-safe control circuits.

Selection criteria include rated control voltage, dropout and reclose thresholds, supply type and mounting position on the host device.
