Lighting Circuit Load
Design load of a final electrical circuit supplying one or more lighting points.
A lighting circuit load represents a group of luminaires or other lighting consumers supplied by one final electrical circuit.
Design calculations consider the number of load points, connected load, maximum demand power, design current, and simultaneity or diversity factors.
These values are used to select conductor cross-section, the rating and tripping characteristic of the protective device, and to verify permissible circuit loading.
Depending on the room function and installation requirements, a dedicated circuit and residual-current protection may be recommended.
Any recommendation must be interpreted in the context of the actual circuit arrangement, local rules, wiring method, and the real characteristics of the connected luminaires.
Design lighting-circuit loads for sizing final lighting circuits.
