DC Reactor
DC-link reactor for a drive or converter, used to smooth current and reduce harmonic and ripple components.
A DC reactor is installed in the intermediate DC link of a variable-frequency drive or another power electronic converter.
It smooths DC-link current, reduces ripple, and can reduce the harmonic loading imposed by the input rectifier on the power supply network.
Key characteristics include inductance, rated current, saturation current, percentage impedance, voltage drop, and power losses.
Selection must consider DC-link voltage, the topology of the specific drive, permissible currents, and the converter manufacturer's requirements.
A DC reactor is an electrically and mechanically specialized DC-link component and should not be replaced by an ordinary AC reactor unless compatibility has been confirmed.
