Flexible Busbar
Flexible conductive element whose construction permits bending to connect electrical points while accommodating geometric displacement or movement.
A flexible busbar is made from a stack of thin lamellae, braided conductor, foil, stranded construction, or another structure that allows the conductor to bend.
Flexibility facilitates connection of current-carrying parts where geometry is complex, vibration is present, mounting tolerances must be accommodated, or components move relative to one another.
Principal characteristics include rated current, cross-section, flexible conductor construction, minimum bend radius, and permitted deformation directions.
Where the product is designed for repeated dynamic flexing, the permissible or qualified number of flex cycles under a defined bend radius and specified test conditions is also relevant.
Selection should distinguish products intended only for one-time installation forming from busbars intended for regular cyclic movement.
This subcategory includes flexible copper and other conductive busbars made from lamellae, braid, foil, and stranded conductors.
