What is Reverse lookup used for?
Reverse lookup allows you to check what hostname is assigned to a specific IP address in the PTR record.
You can quickly check whether an IP address has a correctly set PTR, identify the host of a mail server, recognize the base name of a network node, or verify reverse DNS configuration after delegation changes.
Not every IP address has a PTR record configured. The lack of a result does not necessarily mean a problem with the host itself, but only the lack of reverse DNS or limited configuration of the address range on the operator's side.
